Afif charity distributed relief for Rohingya in Myanmar in the last ten days of the holy month starting from 21st of Ramadan and started distribution of food baskets in addition to Eid clothing for children for nearly 1,500 children in Myanmar.
On his part, Engineer Ibrahim Ali – CEO of Afif charity said “A new vision for the work of charity is under process, a special program for ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because these blessed days are the days of the blessings which aim to deliver the spirit of joy in poor countries and needy.
Engineer Ibrahim said that each package will contain 10 kilos of sugar – 15 kilo corn – 10 kg wheat flour – 5 kg of spaghetti – 2 liters cooking oil – 2 kg lentils – which is sufficient for the average household in those areas for whole month.
For his part, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Nasser Operations and Project Manager of Afif Foundation said “We are facing a human tragedy how can our home have warmth and our brothers are staying overnight in the open?! … How can we enjoy food our brothers’ lacks water and food?! … That was our question the day we started this blessed campaign.. Especially after ongoing humanitarian situation of the Rohingya refugees.
Engineer Ibrahim said “The project had an expected impact, it has helped to reduce the acute shortage of food in that region and provided a key component in their diet which gave a validity to their living conditions”.
