Delegation Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) and Global Rohingya Center (GRC) met the Deputy Foreign Minister of Taiwan Mr. Simon Shen-Yeaw Ko on the sidelines of a conference “Contemporary Challenges of Muslim minorities”, which was held in the Taiwanese capital of Taipei.
The delegation also met diplomatic personalities and heads of the participating organizations to exchange views on the Rohingya issue and how it can strengthen relationships with them in order to restore the right to citizenship and the fundamental rights of the Rohingya Muslims in Burma at the end of the conference which concluded on 14th April 2015.
The delegation also attended dinner with the rest of the conference participants in the dinner held by the Taiwanese Foreign Minister David Y.L. Lin at the ministry’s headquarters in Taipei to welcome the delegates.
It is noteworthy that the delegation delivered a speech at the conference which reviewed and highlights the suffering of the Rohingya people in Arakan State as they’re exposed to persecution at the hands of the Burmese government and received word of interventions by all delegations at the conference.
