An F-7 fighter plane crashed on a training flight in central Myanmar on Tuesday due to a “sudden stop of its engine”, killing the only pilot on board, according to the deputy director-general of the Aviation Department, Ye Htit Aung.
The official said the Chinese F-7 aircraft crashed near the Taungu air base in the Bago district of Myanmar at 10:36 am.
He said the pilot, Arkar Win, died in the accident.
A Y-8 military tanker crashed in the Andaman Sea off the coast of southern Myanmar in June, killing all 122 people on board.
