China provides emergency aid for treatment of swine flu in Myanmar

China delivered emergency aid 0f swine flu vaccines to Myanmar on Thursday.
Vaccines and other medical equipment worth 25 million yuan ($ 3.75 million) were handed over to Myanmar at Yangon International Airport.
During the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang expressed his belief that humanitarian aid, provided for humanitarian reasons, will help cure the disease.
Thiet Kien Win, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports of Myanmar, thanked China’s assistance and pledged to use it in a way that benefits patients to prevent the flu.
Medical equipment is provided with 95 masks, oseltamivir capsules, flu vaccines, personal protection equipment and ventilators for central care units.
More than 300 people have been confirmed to have been infected with seasonal influenza A-H1N1-2009, also known as swine flu, across Myanmar since July 21.
More than 30 people have died of the virus since the outbreak.
